LANHAM, Md. (WUSA9) -- Thursday, Darrell Bellard was found guilty of four counts first-degree murder for the 2010 deaths of Dawn Brooks, her two children and her sister-in-law, according to Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office.

Bellard was accused of the execution-style shooting of 38-year-old Dawn Brooks, three-year-old Shayla Shante Sikyala, four-year-old Shakur Sylvester Sikyala, and 41-year-old Mwasiti Sikyala in Lanham after a dispute about drug debts.

Bellard and Tkeisha Gilmer were detained near the crime scene shortly after police arrived to investigate the quadruple slayings in 2010. The couple were being held as persons of interest, but investigators said the pair ultimately admitted their involvement in the gruesome murders. Police said that Gilmer stood guard by the front door as Bellard shot the victims.

Gilmer pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree murder in November 2011, and testified against Bellard on Monday. She is scheduled to be sentenced May 2 at 9:30 a.m.

Bellard is scheduled to be sentenced May 29. He faces life without parole.
