11 firefighters injured in Waldorf fire after roof collapsed

The occupants of the home were not inside the house when the fire started.

WALDORF, Md. — A house fire broke out Friday evening in the 10000 Block of Chamberlain Court in Waldorf. Charles County Volunteer Fire/ EMS reports that nine firefighters were transported from the scene for non-life threatening injuries after the roof collapsed. Two additional firefighters were transported to the hospital for evaluation after returning to their stations. 

The occupants of the home were not inside the house when the fire started. The Maryland State Fire Marshals Office is currently on the scene investigating the fire. 

Prince George's County, St. Mary's County and Calvert County all provided aid, and the American Red Cross has been called to assist.
