A driver has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman during a ride between Manassas to Woodbridge early Saturday morning, Prince William County police said.
The assault reportedly happened at 3:15 a.m. when the 22-year-old woman had an Uber pick her up from a location in Manassas and take her to a residence in Woodbridge.
During the ride, the driver reportedly held the woman down in the car while sexually assaulting her. Police said the woman was able to text an acquaintance to meet her at her home.
She was then able to get away from the Uber driver who then left the area. Police were able to identify the driver and then found him at his home in Manassas City.
The driver has been identified as Cristian Yovani Zelda Avalo of Manassas. He is being charged with object sexual penetration and abduction with intent to defile. Avalo is being held without bond.
