Police: Alcohol a possible factor in fatal Baltimore-Washington Parkway crash

A woman is dead and a man is in serious condition after a car crash late Sunday evening in Laurel, Md.

LAUREL, Md. — Alcohol possibly played a factor in the deadly crash that killed one person and left another seriously injured on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, U.S. Park Police said.

The single-car crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday on the B-W Parkway near 197.

The driver, only identified as a man, was seriously injured in the crash. A woman, who was a passenger in the car, was killed, officials said. She has not yet been identified.

Police have confirmed that pair were the only people in the car.

The B-W Parkway was closed for a short time after the crash. It was reopened a short time later.

The crash remains under investigation. It is not known if any charges have been filed in this deadly crash.
