A man is dead and a pregnant woman critically hurt after a crash involving a firetruck in northeast DC.
The victim has been identified by police as 32 year-old Deangelo Green, of Northeast, DC.
According to officials, a DC firetruck was responding to an emergency call when it slammed into two cars along Rhode Island Avenue near 12th, injuring a pregnant pedestrian and Green, who was driving a gold Honda Accord.
Both were taken to the hospital, where Green later died.
A firefighter in the truck also suffered minor injuries and was transported.
A second vehicle was also hit and suffered some damage. The driver of that vehicle declined treatment and was not transported.
D.C. police were on scene and are investigating.
