DC records 7th homicide 9 days into 2020

A man was shot several times and killed in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood.

WASHINGTON — A man was shot multiple times and killed in a shooting late Wednesday in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood, D.C. police said.

Officers were called to the shooting in the area of 7th and N Street Northwest streets around 11:31 p.m. At the scene, police said they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to a hospital where he later died, police said. He has not yet been identified.

Investigators said they are now searching for a small white SUV that was seen fleeing the scene. There is no other suspect information at this time, police said.

Under two weeks into the New Year and it is the seventh homicide this year for the District.
