2 killed in Brandywine, Md. crash, police say

Police said one of the cars involved is an SUV which caught on fire.

BRANDYWINE, Md. — Two people are dead following a serious crash in Prince George's County on Tuesday, police said.

Around 8 p.m. Prince George's County police and fire departments responded to the crash in the 500 block of Brandywine Road. 

An SUV was driving northbound when it crossed the double yellow lines and hit a small van on the other side of the road, according to police. 

Officials are unsure what caused the SUV to crash into the other vehicle, killing both drivers. 

The identities of the victims have not been released at this time. 

Brandywine Road has been shut down at Lee Acres Drive due to the investigation.
