Car smashes through home in Aspen Hill

The crash happened in the 2900 block of Aquarius Avenue near Hydrus Road, off Homecrest Road.

ASPEN HILL, Md. — A car crashed into a home and did significant damage on Tuesday morning, the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service said.

The crash happened in the 2900 block of Aquarius Avenue near Hydrus Road, off Homecrest Road. The fire department first tweeted about the crash just after 8 a.m.

The car slammed through the garage and its supporting wall causing significant damage.

The driver of the car was trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters. They were taken to an area hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

No other details have been released.
