Two Dead, Three Injured During Daylight Shooting

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Authorities say five people have been shot in northeast Washington. Two have succumbed to their injuries.

The shooting happened shortly after 4 p.m. in the 5200 block of Clay Terrace in northeast DC. A group of teens where hanging outside in the courtyard area of their Apartment complex when shots rang out, many bullets where shot into the crowd. A dark colored SUV was seen leaving the scene.

According sources, the shooting apparently stems from beefing gangs in this area of D.C. A dispute that has been ongoing for weeks now.

Neighborhood leaders are asking for this violence to stop before more people are killed. No suspects have been charged and Police will not comment on the individuals that were taken into custody shortly after this shooting.
