9NEWS NOW Exclusive: DC Inspectors Offered Bribes

WASHINGTON DC (WUSA) -- There is a strong possibility the DC cab you get into is NOT safe, making for a dangerous ride.

9NEWS NOW has learned scores of cab drivers have been offering bribes to city inspectors to keep their unsafe vehicles on the streets.

Exclusive pictures have been obtained by 9NEWS NOW that show cash, mostly $20 bills, that have been left in the ash trays of some DC cabs.

These cab drivers hope that inspectors will take the money and look the other way at their faulty vehicles.
