WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- US Park Police says the people captured in a photo near the Lincoln Memorial the night it was vandalized are not considered "persons of interest."
Erin Gilliss of Parker, Colorado took the photograph and spotted the wet green and wet paint that someone threw on the famous statue in the early morning hours on Friday.
When WUSA9 reporter Debra Alfarone asked if the five people pictured were located and interviewed, Sgt. Brooks said "it was determined that the people in the photo were not persons of interest."
He added that US Park Police is working with DC Police to determine if there is a connection to the woman arrested today for vandalizing two chapels at the National Cathedral.
