Metro bets that more bus riders could curb crippling congestion by 2030, but first the bus has to get better

While it’s a lifeline for some, buses are bypassed by a majority of commuters in our region. A recent study found that 62 percent take their cars every day, causing crippling traffic. Now, there’s a new push to get more people on the bus than ever thanks to a plan for sweeping changes in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
