DC Mayor activates Heat Emergency Plan
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has activated the District's Heat Emergency Plan. The activation means the city's Cooling Centers will be open for residents seeking relief from the sweltering temperatures. Those cooling centers include all DC libraries and recreation centers as well as the Adams Place Homeless Shelter in Northeast during normal business hours.
