BETHESDA, Md. — A jackknifed tractor-trailer on the "Big Curve" of the Outer Loop near Bradley Boulevard caused major delays Monday morning, Maryland State Police (MSP) said.
The crash happened around 4:32 a.m., MSP officials said. When police arrived on the scene, they found part of the cab hanging off the side of the overpass.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, officials said.
As of 8:45 a.m., the tractor-trailer was removed from the crash scene after two left lanes were blocked while crews worked to remove the vehicle, police said.
The cab has been towed away, however, crews on the scene worked to remove cargo from the damaged trailer before they pulled the portion of the wreckage out of the area, police said.
MSP officials said the site of the crash is the same "Big Curve" where several large trucks have crashed in recent months.
