Water rescue on the Potomac River, one person injured

The person rescued was evaluated and transported to a trauma center with nonlife-threatening injuries.

ARLINGTON COUNTY, Va. — Rescue units from Arlington County and D.C. had to save a person late Saturday afternoon that was in need of help on the Potomac River near the area of GW Parkway and Windy Run after being stuck on rocks.

Arlington officials said in a Tweet that the person rescued was evaluated and transported to a trauma center with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Arlington in its Tweet also thanked DC Fire and EMS and U.S. Park Police.
