Family of 14 displaced after house fire in NW, DC

A family of 14 has been displaced after a house fire broke out in Northwest, D.C. late Thursday night, DC Fire said.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) — A family of 14 has been displaced after a house fire broke out in Northwest, D.C. late Thursday night, DC Fire said.

The fire happened around 9 p.m. in the 6400 block of 16th Street, officials stated. Crews were able to get the fire under control that started on the second floor and in the attic.

Officials said the cause of the fire was accidental and it was caused by something electrical.

There were no working smoke detectors on the second floor and in the attic.
