WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating the death of a 52-year-old woman killed in Northeast Saturday night.
Police responded to a report of gunshots around 10 p.m. in the 3600 block of Jay Street Northeast. Upon arrival, they found an adult female who had been shot. DC Fire & EMS personnel responded to the scene, but, despite their live-saving efforts, the woman was pronounced dead a short time later.
DC Police identified the victim Sunday morning as 52-year-old Angela White-Hooks. No suspect information was yet available.
The fatal shooting is at least the fourth homicide reported in D.C. on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, 25-year-old Malik Bullock was shot and killed in the 600 block of Division Avenue. Later that day, another man, 32-year-old Marquise Jones, was killed in the 5000 block of First Street Northwest.
Early Saturday morning, police found a woman unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the Unit Block of 54th Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene. As of Sunday afternoon, she had not yet been identified.
DC Police currently offer a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person responsible for a homicide committed in the District.
