WASHINGTON — The tropics will need to be watched carefully heading into August - a tropical  waves in the Atlantic Ocean has a now reduced chance of developing.

The upper level winds are forecast to remain mostly unfavorable for development so the The National Hurricane Center has lowered to a 20% chance of development over the next 5 days.



The majority of the modeling moves this wave to the WNW toward the Leeward Islands early next week.

The next name on the Atlantic hurricane season is Chantal.
