*Weekend (Fri. Sat. Sun): Excessive Heat Watch issued 10 a.m. Friday - 10 p.m. Sunday. Heat Index values 105-115.

*Stray storm possible this weekend, mainly Sunday. 

*Cooling off next week. Highs in 80s starting Tuesday. 

The heat and humidity continue through the weekend, and become dangerous Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We have issued Red Weather Alerts for dangerous heat. The temperatures will be around 100 each afternoon with the heat index 105 to 115.

FORECAST DISCUSSION
Muggy tonight with an isolated storm possible early. Lows hold in the 70s from the suburbs to Downtown. 

Dangerous heat arrives Friday and lasts through the weekend. Highs will be in the upper 90s to lower 100s but it will feel like the temperatures are around 110 degrees Friday through Sunday. This could potentially be our hottest stretch in 3 years. We have issued a Red Weather Alert for Friday, Saturday and Sunday for life threatening heat. The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch from Friday morning until Sunday night. 

It will feel like it's around 100 degrees starting as early as 10 a.m. Friday.

EXTENDED FORECAST:
Temps will run around 100 degrees each afternoon Friday through this weekend with the heat index as high as 105 to 115 for the three day stretch. Heat Advisories and/or Heat Warnings are likely. We have issued a Red Weather Alert for each of those days. Our heat wave will break Monday as cold front moves through the DMV.

Early next week, a strong cold front arrives with storms likely Monday, some of which could be strong to severe. Behind this, our heat wave finally breaks. Temps Tuesday will be back in the 70s and 80s.
