Sunday: Partly cloudy and hot with isolated T-storms. High: 91.

RELATED: Only three serious tornadoes have hit D.C. in the past 50 years. Two were on the same day.

FORECAST DISCUSSION

Saturday will be comfortable before more heat returns Sunday into Memorial Day.  We will have a chance for a few afternoon storms Saturday and Sunday, but Memorial Day looks fine.Right now the best chance of storms in the Metro is Saturday evening and Saturday night. Some of the storms will be heavy and a few could reach severe limits both Saturday and Sunday.

It will be a hot and more humid Sunday with a bit of a cool down by Memorial Day. There will be a chance of a few afternoon showers and storms Saturday and Sunday. It will not be a washout, so don't cancel your plans but rather stay flexible.

Saturday: Isolated PM storms, mainly after 3 p.m. especially in the mountains.
Saturday Night: some strong to severe storms possible
Sunday: Isolated PM storms, mainly after 3 p.m.
Monday: Mainly dry, just a stray storm.

The beach forecast looks pretty good as well. The ocean temp is only in the low 60s so please do not stay in the ocean long. Hypothermia is possible is 20 minutes.
