BROOKVILLE, Md., -- Six people had to be rescued after being stranded in high water in Montgomery County Saturday evening.

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service say they responded to Brighton Dam Road and Bordly Drive for the report of people stranded in cars due to rising water levels.

All six people were safely rescued and no one was injured.

Officials said New Hampshire Avenue and Brighton Dam Road are now closed following the rescues. Portions of Brighton Dam Road and Boardly Drive on the Georgia Avenue side are also closed.
