2018: The wettest year on record in DC, Dulles and Baltimore

2018 will go down as the wettest year in history for DC.

2018 was the wettest on record in the DC area.

DC's official recording site at Reagan National Airport ended up with 66.28" of rain, which broke the previous record of 61.33" from 1889. This total is over 2 feet above our annual average of 39.74", and is nearly as much rain as the previous 2 years combined of 67.3" (2016 + 2017).

There were 24 days with at least 1" of rain, which is also a new record.

Dulles International Airport and Baltimore Washington Airport also had record wet years with 66.74" and 71.82" respectively.
