Heavy rain washes out MARC tracks in Md., impacts train service

Currently, no service is available between the Brunswick and Martinsburg lines.

BRUNSWICK, MD -- MARC commuters in West Virginia and western Frederick County, Maryland will have to put up with another day of life without the MARC train.

The strong storms that rolled through the DMV Tuesday washed out MARC tracks along the Brunswick line between the Point of Rocks and Brunswick stations.

The state of Maryland released photos of the damage Wednesday evening. Soil appeared to be washed out underneath railroad ties.
