30 passengers injured after Greyhound bus, tractor trailer crash in Hagerstown

Thirty passengers were injured after a tractor trailer and Greyhound bus crashed early Friday morning eastbound I-70 in Hagerstown, Maryland, police said.

Around 5:05 a.m., Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack were dispatched to the report of a personal injury collision on eastbound I-70.

Officials said the Greyhound Bus had re-ended the tractor trailer.

All of the lanes near Exit 32 were closed for nearly two hours, but have since reopened.

Washington County ECC confirmed there were 46 total passengers on the Greyhound Bus and that 30 of those passengers were transported to Meritus Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The 16 uninjured passengers were picked up by school buses and were taken to the McDonald's located on Sharpsburg Pike near the Hagerstown Barrack. G

Greyhound is sending another bus from Washington D.C. to pick up the passengers from the accident.
