Terrell Owens is making a comeback

Get your popcorn ready, Terrell Owens could be making a comeback soon.

(WUSA9) - Future Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens believes he can still play in the NFL at the age of 44.

Owens has stayed active both online and in real life as of late.

The future Hall of Famer went on the Skip and Shannon: Undisputed sports talk show earlier this month to clarify that his comeback claims were very serious.

“If the opportunity arises then I will entertain it," Owens said on Undisputed earlier this month. "Am I actively seeking? No, but I’m always going to be engaged on social media. Everybody has seen the shape that I’m in. I still got it. there’s not a reason why I can’t play.”

Owens then took to social media to shut down Shannon Sharpe's doubts by showing off his elite speed at the age of 44.

Owens enjoyed a successful yet controversial 14-year career in the NFL playing for the 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, Bills, Bengals and finishing second in all-time receiving yards behind only Jerry Rice.

While his talent was never in question, his attitude was constantly scrutinized by the media and fans. Most famously in the fallout with Donovan McNabb in Philadelphia.

It's clear that the six-time Pro Bowler is hoping to add to his all-time standing, as he's been actively working out with Pro Bowler Julio Jones to stay in shape.

Owens' social media antics didn't stop there however, he went as far as pitching his services to San Francisco 49ers GM John Lynch for the veteran minimum.

It is uncertain if any NFL teams are truly considering signing Owens, but he might have a shot north of the border.

The Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League recently claimed his football rights according to David William Naylor of TSN.

One thing is for certain, if an NFL team does take a chance on the aging Hall of Famer, it'll instantly make their games must-watch.
