Best places to watch Caps Game 5 if you couldn't get into the Capital One Arena watch party

Bring your kids, your dogs, and Rock the Red at these viewing parties.

WASHINGTON -- If you didn’t get tickets to the Game 5 Watch Party at Capital One Arena, do not despair – there are a lot of ways to watch the game and celebrate in and around D.C. Rock the Re.

Biggest Viewing Parties

Navy Memorial Viewing Party

The Navy Memorial on Pennsylvania Avenue, which regularly holds a movie night on Thursday nights on their outdoor jumbo movie screen, will be showing Game 5. The movies the Navy Memorial regularly shows are meant to showcase the Navy to viewers, “but this week, we honor our neighbors, the Washington Capitals, and all of the fans who want to celebrate their quest for the Stanley Cup,” said Rear Admiral Frank Thorp, President & CEO of the Navy Memorial.

The Wharf

The Wharf is hosting a free viewing party, starting at 7:30 p.m. on the big screen. Case Bridge will be lit up in Caps colors providing the perfect picture. Meanwhile, you can fuel up on food and beverages along Pearl Street.

Most Kid-Friendly

Capitalsville Viewing Party

The town of Capitalsville, formerly known as Lovettsville, will be hosting a watch party at its Summer on the Green. There will be free popcorn and snow cones, as well as options to buy pizza and hot wings. The pregame starts at 7 p.m.

Wheaton Ice Arena

Tire out the kids prior to the game by bringing them to Wheaton Ice Arena in Caps gear for $5 public skating sessions. At 8 p.m., the game will be on at the arena and the snack bar will be open. Small red slush puppies will be $2 throughout the series. Be sure to post your little Caps fan on social media using @WheatonIce on Thursday for a discounted public skating session.

Rockville Town Square

Admission is free to the Rockville Town Square viewing party. The game will be on the big screen there. Free to come, just bring some chairs, blankets and wear the color red.

The Bullpen

Get away from the Gallery Place crowd and go to Navy Yard. The Bullpen, an outdoor venue which typically offers Truckeroo as well as discounted drinks during Nats games, will be pulling all the stops with $5 drinks, the game with sound, as well as a free concerts from 6-9 p.m. It’s free to get in and kid-friendly until 9 p.m.

Bar Viewing Parties

Meridian Pint and Brookland Pint

Not only does Meridian Pint have craft beer from 3 Stars Brewing Co., but during their Caps watch parties, they offer both drink and food specials.

Nellie’s Sports Bar

Nellie’s will be playing the game on Thursday night with sound. Before or after, you can enjoy their rooftop as the weather is expected to be beautiful.

Penn Social

So, you didn’t get into Capital One Arena, but you can still be close for the festivities. If you manage to sneak out of work early, hop on over to Penn Social for their 4-7 pregame happy hour, which includes $2 off drafts and $5 rail drinks. The game will then be screened.

What isn't happening

Despite the turnout at Farragut Park during Game 4, they will not be hosting a viewing party for Game 5.
