WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — Jack Gruden, the son of Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden, is no longer a member of the organization’s video staff, according to an Instagram story he posted Thursday.
According to the Washington Post, Gruden posted the message ,“Thankful for the opportunity @redskins .. it’s been real.” followed by two emojis: a hand making a peace sign and an arm flexing.
The Instagram story in question has since been removed.
Gruden was arrested on Feb. 9 in Ashburn and charged with being drunk in public. According to the police report, the 22-year-old was involved in three confrontations before being arrested. His hearing is scheduled for March 21, according to ESPN.
Gruden has been a part of the Redskins’ staff for the past two seasons. He was a volunteer in 2017, before becoming a video assistant in 2018.
Last season, he was responsible for filming and editing game and practice footage while providing assistance to the coaching staff, according to The Washington Post.
When asked for comment, a Redskins official said they don't comment on personnel matters.
Jack Gruden’s father Jay has been head coach of the Redskins since the 2014 season.
Washington finished an injury-plagued 2018 with a 7-9 record and are 35-44-1 during Gruden’s five-year tenure.
