(WUSA 9) -- Hilton Grand Vacations has fired Tom Shand, the individual who posted a picture on social media that showed a lynching of Florida State head football coach Willie Taggart.

Taggart, who completed his first season with the Seminoles, is the first black head football coach in FSU's 116-year history.

The team finished with a 5-7 record, and is ineligible for a bowl game for the first time in more than three decades.

When I first tweeted about Tom Shand's racist post, it made me sick.

Taggart's team losing seven football games didn't turn Shand into a racist.

His true colors just came out.

He's been posting racist comments for years.

Back in 2015, he went after former Tampa Bay head football coach Lovie Smith saying "I hope they fire his black ass"

Racism is terrible and uncomfortable, and it should feel that way when we read about it.

We may not see it, but racism is still all around us.

Just every once in a while a racist person reveals who they truly are.
