Nationals hold auditions for bullpen cart driver

The Washington Nationals held auditions at Nationals Park on Tuesday for their next bullpen cart driver.

WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — So you want to work for your favorite baseball team, the Washington Nationals?

And you want a job where you can get to interact with the players?

The team has the job for you.

The Nationals held auditions Tuesday for the job of bullpen cart driver.

According to the Nats, a lot of people wanted the gig.

“We posted the job, it was up for three days, and we had 432 applicants,” says the Nationals Entertainment Director Tom Davis. “I think that the 21 that are here, are just really excited at the opportunity, and getting able to do something at the ballpark besides seeing the game. It’s just something different that they can add to their bucket list.”

One person who wishes he could be a part of the obstacle course applicants had to conquer is Nationals pitcher Sean Doolittle.

“It’s a fun thing that the fans have kind of really taken to,” says Doolittle. “I’m a little busy, I have work so I won’t make it [to the auditions]. I’m excited to hear all about it, and I’ll definitely will be keeping tabs on it for sure.”
