He's back... competing in The National that is.

Tiger Woods announced Monday, on social media that he will compete in The National at TPC Potomac this summer.

While the news comes as hardly a surprise given his recent play, including two top-5 finishes in his last two tournaments, Woods' return will end an absence since he last played in the National in August of 2015.

On his website, Tiger Woods reiterated his commitment to his own tournament.

“I am really looking forward to being back in the D.C. area this summer playing in The National,” Woods said. “As a two-time champion of this event benefiting my foundation, The National has always been a special event for me.”

Tickets are currently on sale for The National, which will take place June 28-July 1. You can also watch live third and fourth round coverage on WUSA9.
