WASHINGTON (WUSA) — Sometimes it's nice to go down memory lane.

That's exactly what former players of the 2006 George Mason Basketball team did with sports reporter Diane Roberts.

The former players shared their experiences of being the tournament underdog and making it to the Final Four.

At the beginning of the season, head coach Jim Larranaga brought in a sports psychologist to work with the players.

He wanted them to visualize where they'd be at season's end. Lamar Butler was a senior leader on that team.

He remembers visualizing going to the Final Four, I just said Final Four. I just visualized us going to the Final Four."

And Jai Lewis, another senior, credits Coach L as players called their head coach, with keeping them ready, "I think the biggest thing was he helped us stay level. He made sure we had fun the entire time so we weren't stressing out... and we weren't scared."

Chris Fleming was a freshman during that magical run. Now he's a married father and works as an account executive at MicroStrategy. He says regularly the Final Four run comes up at his work.

The guys says they stay connected daily through a players only group chat... their Final Four group chat.
