WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) — Playoffs are back! Thursday marks the Capitals' journey to the Stanley Cup Finals.

To start the playoffs right, the Capitals will present many events for fans to get in the playoff mood.

The Washington Capitals begin their road to the Stanley Cup Finals in a first-round match-up against Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday evening in our nation's capital.

To gear up for the playoffs the Capitals will put on several events for the fans.

Tuesday, April 10, the Capitals will host their annual Soar to the Playoffs pep rally, presented by Boeing. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Melwood Elementary School in Upper Marlboro, Md.

During the event fans can play street hockey, make posters, receive giveaways, and take pictures with Slapshot and the Red Rockers.

On Thursday, April 12, Caps fans are welcomed to participate in an ALL CAPS Ticket Challenge for a chance to win tickets to Game 1 against the Blue Jackets night. The game will start at 7:30 p.m at Capital One Arena.

On Thursday, April 19, fans are encouraged to come out to the Yard House in the Chinatown area in Washington, D.C., during a Game 4 viewing party from 7-10 p.m.

The event will include appearances by Caps personalities like Snapshot and the Red Rockers.
