District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser says she had "a wide-ranging discussion" with President-elect Donald Trump and emphasized to him that the city doesn't get special treatment from the federal government.

The Democratic mayor met with Trump at his Trump Tower office in New York on Tuesday, at her request. After Trump's election, she said "some mending of relationships" was needed between Trump and a city that overwhelmingly voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton.
