WASHINGTON — More than 8,000 people are without electricity after severe storms brought gusty winds and cold temperatures to the D.C. area overnight Sunday, according to several power companies.
As of 10:45 a.m. Monday morning, at least four different power companies are reporting that 8,000 people are without power.
Dominion Virginia Power -- 6,231 in Northern Virginia
Pepco -- 825
BGE -- 734
SMECO -- 775
There is a wind advisory Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for gusts up to 50 mph.
