FREDERICK, Md. — Police arrested a man after he allegedly drove drunk and hit a Frederick police cruiser with his car on Friday night.
Around 11:06 p.m. a police officer was going northbound in the unit block of Hillcrest Drive when he was hit by a Ford Mustang. The driver of the Mustang did not stop after the crash and sped off in order to flee the scene.
The officer turned on his emergency equipment and followed the driver. Police said the driver drove in an erratic manner through the parking lot at 1080 W. Patrick Street. He eventually stopped behind the shopping center at a dead end.
Police arrested Alfredo Antonio Guzman Barrera charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol, attempt to elude by failing to stop, and failure to stop after property damage accident.
