Normal service resumes on Red line after track problem at Wheaton Metro

Crews are investigating a possible burning or arcing insulator along the tracks at the end of the Wheaton Metro platform, Montgomery County Fire Rescue said.

WHEATON, Md. -- Normal service has resumed on the Red line between Silver Spring and Wheaton after an earlier reported track problem, Metro said.

Crews investigated a possible burning or arcing insulator along the tracks at the end of the Wheaton Metro platform Thursday morning, Montgomery County Fire Rescue said.

Officials said there is no smoke and the fire has been put out.
