WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team dropped in to Fort Myer, Va., Wednesday in anticipation of the Army's birthday celebration.
Before the Golden Knights, there was the Strategic Army Corps Sport Parachute Team (STRAC). The first STRAC team consisted of 19 expert military parachutists. Today's Golden Knights consists of demonstration and competition parachutist teams, drawn from all branches of the Army.
