Tractor trailer driver died after running truck off of Beltway into cement barrier in Virginia

Two lanes are closed on the Beltway in Virginia after a tractor trailer driver ran the truck off of the road and into a cement barrier.

DUNN LORING, Va. — The driver of a tractor trailer died after driving the the truck off of the road near Exit 49A on I-495 in Dunn Loring, Virginia early Thursday morning, officials said. 

Around 1:50 a.m., a tractor trailer crashed into a cement barrier which ruptured the truck's fuel tank.The trailer caught on fire. 

All lanes of the beltway were closed, but two have reopened while officials wait for a flatbed to remove the truck blocking two lanes. 

Officials could not say if any other vehicles were involved.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
