SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. -- Spotsylvania Co. public schools have canceled midterms due to a recent winter storm that kept students out of school for three days.
The announcement came Wednesday night after the SCPS announced school would open on a two-hour delay on Thursday.
According to SCPS, grades for the semester will be calculated using the grades from the 1st and 2nd 9-week marking periods.
The note by SCPS noted that some teachers may choose to still use the exam to track student growth and students may still choose to take exams.
In which case, SCPS recommends the exam grade is only used to elevate a student’s grade.
Class days on December 17 and 18 will now be full days for high school and December 19 will be a half day for high schools only. December 20 will be a half day for all levels.
