Police investigate possible drowning at Lake Barcroft

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Police are investigating a potential drowning at Lake Barcroft in Fairfax County. 

Police found 55-year-old Lee Bowersett from Falls Church dead near the shore of the lake around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers initially responded to the 3500 block of Duff Drive around 10 p.m. Tuesday for reports of a missing persons. Bowersett's SUV was parked nearby, but his boat was missing. 

Police said he hadn't been seen or heard from since Sunday. Patrol officers and helicopters searched the area Tuesday after responding, but couldn't find him until Wednesday.

According to police, there are no signs of foul play as of now.
