Maryland man struck, killed by train on tracks near Burke Road in Fairfax County

BURKE, Va. — A pedestrian is dead after they were struck by a train in Fairfax County early Wednesday morning, according to Fairfax County Police Department.

The fatal incident happened on the train tracks near Burke Road and Rolling Road, police said.

Detectives from the department's Crash Reconstruction Unit are investigating the incident.

Investigators identified the man killed as 51-year-old Kenneth Little of Maryland. They say he was walking east on the train tracks. The train was traveling on the eastbound tracks and struck Little, who was pronounced dead on the scene. The crash reconstruction unit said they do not believe the train engineer was impaired and the train was not speeding. Investigators are still working to determine whether alcohol was a contributing factor for the pedestrian.
