ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - A U.S. Marine is accused of killing his wife following a military ball in Virginia.

The Free Lance-Star reports 24-year-old Rodolfo Rivera Valencia is charged with murder in the November death of 20-year-old Natasha Soto Rivera. She was found dead at an Arlington hotel the morning after the ball.

Court records say Soto Rivera also was a Marine, and the recently married couple had an infant child. They were stationed at Quantico.

Court records say Rivera Valencia called 911 and said he believed he had killed his unconscious wife. Arlington Detective Jasmine Sean says she had injuries consistent with strangulation and a "brutal" beating. He says Rivera Valencia told authorities he has an anger problem and blacked out from alcohol that night.

It's unclear if he has a lawyer.
