A man has been arrested in connection with a pedestrian hit by a vehicle near Tarleton Way just before 11 p.m. on August 13.

Stafford County Sheriff said when they arrived on scene, a female victim had serious injuries to her legs and head. She was lying on the ground behind a Dodge Ram Truck.

Aaron D. Atteberry, 39, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including driving while intoxicated.

Because Atteberry refused to cooperate with DUI testing, officials obtained a search warrant to get a blood sample.

His other charges include maiming as a result of driving while intoxicated, concealed weapon carry while intoxicated, resisting arrest, assault and battery of a police officer, obstructing justice and aggravated malicious wounding.

Atteberry was denied bond and returned to the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
