Police searching for answers in Fairfax Co. homicide

There is no word on the man's identity at this time.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Police are investigating after a man was shot to death in Fairfax County Monday night around 8 p.m.

According to a tweet from the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD), the man was killed in the 7900 block of Audubon Avenue. 

When detectives arrived, they found the man suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene. Police say they are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

There is no word on the man's identity at this time.

Police have not released any information regarding a suspect or motive in the case. 

Investigators said neighbors in the area reported hearing gunshots in the area, but are asking anyone in the neighborhood to come forward if they heard anything or saw anything suspicious.
