ALDIE, Va. — A Virginia family is offering a $5,000 reward to bring their dog back home safely.

In a Facebook post, the family of Brutus, a 10-year-old Pitbull and Boxer mix announced they are still searching for their dog. The family decided to up the reward from $1,000 after several weeks of searching.

Owner Andrew Jenkins says he believes Brutus snuck out of his home on Lenah Farm Lane in Aldie on May 9th. Jenkins thinks someone accidentally opened the door and let Brutus out.

The family has not seen their dog since and have posted reward flyers throughout their local community and even bought a professional tracker in hopes of finding Brutus.

"Brutus is our family and he has been great to us. We owe him nothing short of every ounce of our family’s effort and time," the Facebook post read.

Brutus' owners say he is neutered, microchipped and does not like cats. His name and address are on his collars and tags according to the post.

Anyone who has seen Brutus should call his owner Andrew Jenkins at 571-235-3520 or Loudoun County Animal Services at 703-777-0406‬.
