No, this is false.

With the holidays just around the corner, most people should be thinking about buying plane tickets homes if they have not already.

Multiple experts have previously reported that Tuesday the most affordable to book a ticket.

WUSA9 researchers spoke with flight experts at Airfare Watchdog say it's just a myth. They say "No one can accurately predict where airfares are heading, any more than we can predict the stock market."

George Hobica, president at Airfare Watchdog said "Airlines do put a lot of fares on sale on Tuesday, however they also do put a lot of fares on sale on Thursdays and Fridays and Saturdays so if youre only looking on a Tuesday, youre definately going to miss out on a good deal."

Liana Corwin, travel expert at Hopper, an airfare app, agreed even though Tuesdays on average showed 3.4 percent cheaper fares. "It's extremely nuanced and so it depends on your route and the dates that youre going to fly."

Airfare app Hopper recommends booking your Christmas flight before your Thanksgiving flight as prices increase each day closer to the steadily before Christmas and spike ten days before the holiday.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, factors that determine that airline prices include how big the plane is, how many seats are filled, competitive routes, gas and distance under the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978.
