Lots of misinformation floating around online; Before you share it make sure it's verified.

Like what viewer Joel Dearring sent our way that claims President Trump canceled Michelle Obama's school lunch program.

So, is this true?

Verify researchers found out there is no such "Michelle Obama school lunch program" as the meme refers to, but the former First Lady led the initiative, Let's Move, a national public awareness effort to improve children's health and the passing of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 which increases access to quality meals in school cafeterias for kids.

In May 2017, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue announced the Trump administration made changes to some of those nutritional requirements like sodium and calorie reduction in school lunches

So now under the new guidelines, the Trump administration allows 1% flavored milk instead of only nonfat and through 2020, schools aren't mandated to cut more salt from meals.

Perdue said, “A perfect example is in the south, where the schools want to serve grits. But the whole grain variety has little black flakes in it, and the kids won’t eat it.

The school is compliant with the whole grain requirements, but no one is eating the grits. That doesn't make any sense.”

So we verified false, there's no Michelle Obama school lunch program canceled by President Trump.
