1 person injured in Springfield house fire

One person is injured after a fire broke out at a Springfield house, according to Fairfax County Fire officials.

UPDATE: Fire investigator not say that an electric oven that was left on is what caused the fire.

Fire investigators say that radiant heat from the oven ignited nearby combustible materials. Damages from the fire are approximately $80,000.

ORIGINAL STORY: One person is injured after a fire broke out at a Springfield house, according to Fairfax County Fire officials.

The house fire happened in the 5500 block of Heming Ave. around 2:30 a.m. When crews got to the home they found fire coming from the front of the one-story home.

Officials said the occupant was able to get out of the house on his own, however he has minor injuries. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is not clear at this time what caused the fire.
