At least five people, including 2 children remain missing in the wake of the explosion and collapse at the Flower Branch apartments in Silver Spring, according to family members interviewed by WUSA9 reporters.

The two missing children have been identified as 3-year-old Fernando Josu Hernandez and 9-year-old David Morales.

HOW TO HELP

A missing couple has been identified as Augusto Jimenez, 60, and Maria Castellon, 53, who lived together in apartment 103.

The fifth victim WUSA9 has identified is 61-year-old Saul Paniagua from apartment 101.

“I wanted to jump into those flames last night to go help him and to see if his body was there,” cried Angie Paniagua, whose father is missing.

Many family members are holding vigils near the command post set up by authorities.

Rescuers have announced the recovery of two bodies. But the individuals have not been identified.
