POTOMAC, Md. (WUSA9) — A family is displaced after an early morning fire in North Potomac, Md., Sunday.

Authorities said it happened at the 14900 block of Keenland Circle around 2:30 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they saw flames shooting out from the garage.

15 occupants were inside the house when the fire started and smelled something burning. Most of them were there as guests for a wedding scheduled for Sunday.

The fire is still under investigation, but fire officials said it appears that some guests were smoking outside in the driveway.

Fire damage is estimated at $450K.
